We made it to Beijing!

We arrived to our hotel about 5 on Thursday afternoon. We walked next door to McDonald's and had cheeseburger! For my NYC friends, a lady tried to sell me a LV wallet and a watch in the McDonald's. ( Ducky, I said no!) We were so exhausted after being up for over 24 hours that we crashed at 6pm. This morning (Friday here) we ate breakfast and texted some friends and family that had iPhones. That made me feel a lot better to connect back home! We also Skyped with my parents. We had a meeting with our guide and met with 2 of the other families that are here with us. One family is adopting their 3rd child from China, so that helped to make us feel more at ease about the trip and process. We went out and walked to the Silk Market (a.k.a Chinese Straw Market) where EVERYONE is trying to sell you something! I've never been called " hey lady" so many times. We went back to our hotel for lunch with another couple. This afternoon we are headed to an acrobatic show which should be fun! Thanks for all your thoughts! We will try to post when we can.
